:: Thomas Brezina

Thomas Brezina was born in Vienna in 1963 and is one of the most prolific and popular writers for children and teen-agers in the German language. He has penned a huge variety of novels, mysteries, fantasy stories and series of books, with no end in sight. Besides his books, he has worked on numerous TV programmes for children and young people and has been, and still is, a very popular radio and TV presenter. His work has been translated till now into 35 other languages, so children in, for example, Italy, Spain, Russia, Brazil and China have the chance to read his stories. For years the adventures of the Tiger-Team have been particularly popular in China, where they are always at the top of the bestsellers list. He has been honoured with important awards, among others he was voted in Austria as Author of the Year in 2006 (2nd place: J.K. Rowling, 3rd place: Dan Brown) and again in 2007. At the "WorldFest 2005" in Houston/Texas, Thomas Brezina's TV-science concept "Forscherexpress" received the highest award, the Platinum Award, in the category "TV-Special Family/Children". Thomas Brezina is very active in promoting children's welfare, is a UNICEF ambassador for Austria, and says his mind is like an enormous adventure playground, always providing new material for stories.
