:: Wolfgang Hohlbein

Wolfgang Hohlbein is with over 160 books, a total edition of 7 million books, Germany's most popular fantasy author of the last 20 years. Among his numerous novels are the trilogy Märchenmond, the legendary stories about Kapitän Nemos Kinder and Die Chronik der Unsterblichen published by Egmont Verlagsgesellschaften, VGS.

At the beginning of his career he wrote under several pseudonyms (for example Robert Craven), his first novel was Der Hexer. Wolfgang Hohlbein received the Nyctalus award of the Dracula-Society in 2005 for volume 7 Der Gejagte, of our Chronik der Unsterblichen. Sometimes he writes together with his wife Heike, together they wrote the successful novel Märchenmond.

Until now he has never ever had a writer's block, he says “You must never stop dreaming.” As his literary guides he mentions J.R.R. Tolkien who awakened his love for fantasy, and Michael Ende, Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft which he calls his favoured authors.

Wolfgang Hohlbein lives together with his wife Heike and his 5 children near Neuss. Often at night, he goes to the attic where he is able to imagine his fascinating stories and settings and to see them with his inner eye.
