Dagmar H. Mueller was born in 1961 in the rural german landscape "Sauerland". At the university of Hamburg she graduated in German language and literature studies as well as in sports studies. She had been working as a fitness trainer and music teacher, until she made one of her childhood dreams come true: Writing. Especially horse stories meant much to her as a passionate rider she had always been herself.

In the meantime she writes successfully for various publishing houses. Dagmar H. Mueller was awarded with the LesePeter prize, and in 2006 she received the Kinderbuchpreis NRW, a special children books award. In 2007 she was nominated for the Austrian Jugendliteraturpreis 2007, a juvenile literature prize. Today she calls two places home, one in western England and the other, of course, Hamburg.

She herself says that if she was not so busy with writing, she would probably breed horses, maybe even in the green hills of Gloucestershire where she happily lives now for a couple of years with her fifteen-year-old son.
